The Goa Department of Water Resources is created in order to Harness, Utilize, Protect and Regulate the water resources in the State of Goa so as to make optimal use of the same and also save this precious resources for posterity.The Goa Department of Water Resourcesis in-charge of (i) Major and Medium Irrigation Works (ii) Minor Irrigation Works (iii) Allied sectors of Command Area Development (iv) Flood Control, Anti-Sea Erosion and Drainage Works and (v) Minor Irrigation Works under Hill Area/Western Ghats Development Programme (HADP/WGDP). Other works include Conservation of Water Resources, Water Shed Development and Development of Water Resources for domestic and industrial use. Its Jurisdiction extends over the entire State of Goa
